Lithium spodumene beneficiation methods
Nowadays, many people still have... Lepidolite beneficiation We’re not fully familiar with some of its basic information, so as the manufacturer, it’s necessary for us to briefly explain it. In fact, this spodumene beneficiation process is widely used in industrial applications. It has a unique structure, high resistance to external pressure, and strong impact resistance. Therefore, when we need to use it, it’s essential to first understand how to properly handle it. This way, we can avoid encountering any problems during operation.

Lepidolite beneficiation The method The technological process of lithium ore processing includes crushing, grinding, and sorting. Crushing involves reducing large chunks of lithium ore or raw materials into smaller pieces to meet the particle-size requirements of downstream users or subsequent processing stages. Based on the crushing granularity, it can be categorized into coarse crushing, medium crushing, and fine crushing. Grinding is a process carried out in mechanical equipment, where the impact and grinding action of media—such as steel balls, steel rods, and gravel—combined with the inherent properties of the minerals themselves, maximizes the liberation of lithium ore from gangue minerals, thereby producing particles that meet the required size specifications for downstream operations. The sorting process requires specific materials. Sorting, also known as lithium ore separation or beneficiation, employs certain mineral-processing methods to separate useful minerals, gangue minerals, and different types of valuable minerals within the lithium ore, and then enriches each fraction separately. Lepidolite beneficiation The sorted products are lithium concentrate and lithium tailings. Manual sorting method: This method is primarily used for separating coarse-grained spodumene from a combination of spodumene and lepidolite. It relies on the differences in color or shape between the minerals themselves and the gangue minerals. The manual selection method is employed to extract lithium-bearing minerals from the ore, utilizing selective grinding and manual picking. Thermal cracking method: This method can process materials containing... 0.8%-2.0% Lithium spodumene concentrate containing lithium dioxide 4%-6% Lithium concentrate for lithium dioxide, recovery rate: 70%-80% However, this method has certain limitations in practical applications, as the roasting process requires relatively high temperatures and does not allow for the recovery of other useful metal components.
Lepidolite beneficiation of the Chemical beneficiation primarily uses chemical reactions to convert the valuable components in ores into substances that are readily soluble in water or other solvents, thereby enabling their separation and extraction. Chemical beneficiation typically yields only semi-finished products—chemical concentrates. Chemical processing methods are mainly used for extracting lithium from brine solutions. The heavy suspension heavy liquid separation method for spodumene: Spodumene has a relative density of approximately... 3.2 It is higher in content than major gangue minerals such as quartz and feldspar, which commonly occur together with spodumene. Using the re-suspension flotation method, spodumene serves as the heavy mineral, while the gangue minerals act as the light minerals. Lithium spodumene beneficiation Magnetic separation is a supplementary method used to improve the quality of lithium concentrates. It is commonly employed to remove iron-containing impurities from lithium concentrates or to separate weakly magnetic minerals such as lepidolite and spodumene obtained through flotation. Sometimes, concentrates with higher iron content fail to meet the requirements of certain industrial sectors. To reduce the iron content, these concentrates can be subjected to magnetic separation.
