Application of Spiral Classifiers
Spiral classifier Also known as a spiral classifier, this crushing machine features a helical, disc-shaped gear arrangement and is primarily used for grinding materials such as metals, wood, and stone. Its operating principle involves feeding material into the machine, which is then conveyed along a spiral groove surface. As the material moves through the polygonal crushing chamber—whose walls are shaped like helical gears—it undergoes friction and grinding, resulting in graded particle size reduction and achieving different degrees of fineness in the grinding process.

The spiral classifier boasts advantages such as a compact structure, simple operation, excellent vibration resistance, low operating noise, and high energy efficiency, making it an ideal crushing equipment. Its key strengths include: a compact structure that takes up minimal space and is easy to operate, thereby saving significant installation space and time; superior vibration resistance, coupled with high efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and safety, enabling it to better meet the requirements of grinding processes; low operating noise, which minimizes noise pollution and effectively protects the environment; and high energy efficiency, which can significantly enhance the performance of crushing equipment and reduce system energy consumption.
Spiral classifier Widely used in industries such as automotive, motorcycle, mechanical manufacturing, steel, metallurgy, power generation, petroleum, mining, chemical engineering, agricultural machinery, environmental protection, construction, electronics, and cement, these machines can effectively meet the requirements of various sectors. Specifically, in the automotive industry, spiral classifiers can be employed to grind car chassis, engines, and other components, significantly enhancing vehicle performance. In the mechanical manufacturing sector, spiral classifiers are used to grind mechanical parts and components. In the power industry, they are utilized for grinding equipment such as generators and transformers. In the steel industry, they are suitable for grinding steel plates. And in the cement industry, they can be used to grind cement mortar and other related materials.
The working principle of the spiral classifier is to feed materials through a spiral groove surface, where they undergo friction and grinding, thereby achieving particle size separation and pulverization and obtaining grinding effects of varying granularity. Specifically, the material to be crushed is conveyed through polygonal crushing grooves shaped like helical gears on the spiral groove surface. During operation, the material is alternately subjected to grinding and classification under the action of rotating blades and stationary blades, thus attaining the desired pulverization effect.
The normal operation and maintenance of the spiral classifier are extremely important. Regular inspections should be conducted on the classifier’s gears, bearings, running chains, and other components to ensure that the equipment operates smoothly. In addition, lubricating oils and greases should be checked periodically to guarantee proper lubrication of the equipment; old grease should be replaced; irreparable parts should be replaced promptly; internal dust accumulation should be cleaned regularly; and the equipment’s temperature should be monitored regularly to ensure its smooth operation.
When using a spiral classifier, please pay attention to the following points: First, before use, you should check the operating condition of the spiral classifier. Second, operators must wear safety shoes and helmets. Third, never operate the machine without supervision. Additionally, never operate multiple spiral classifiers simultaneously to prevent accidental hazards.
