Process Introduction

Barite is brittle and easily broken, with crystals exhibiting a large tubular shape. The beneficiation methods for barite include gravity separation, magnetic separation, and flotation.

1. Re-election method:
The typical practice involves crushing and screening, followed by a jigging beneficiation process to obtain a high-grade concentrate with a product grade of 80% or higher.
2. Magnetic Separation:
Wet magnetic separators are typically used to separate iron-bearing minerals such as siderite from barite raw materials, which are intended for barium-based pharmaceutical products requiring very low iron content.
3. Flotation method:
For the separation of barite ores with very fine grain sizes and their heavy-media separation tailings, flotation is commonly employed. Depending on the adsorption mechanism, barite ore can be floated using anionic collectors such as fatty acid alkyl sulfates or alkyl sulfonates, or cationic amine-based collectors.
